No David, I really don't think that only greed motivates. What motivates one to paint a picture or write a poem or plant a flower garden or educate a child? There are many many motivating factors. In our current economic system where competition is stressed and people are out for themselves, greed is a big factor. But this system conditions people to behave in certain ways. It is up to every individual to see through and beyond this system - which is not writen in stone anyway. And we cannot rely on our governments to get us out of this mess becasue they are part of the mess and are similarly entangled in the mess. It is up to us to begin anew in whatever ways we can, to build a new Earth and to realize that every single person on the planet needs clean drinking water, food and shelter .... for starters. There is no "ism" whether political or religious that will help us now simply because we are not dealing with ideas and ideals, but with reality. This is truly a crisis in consciousness.

Pledging allegiance to a flag and country is simply (and I don't mean to be rude) delusional!

Cheers David.
