I have just watched your interview with a broken heart.I had a similar upbringing but I didn't leave home until I went to college.I was emotionally abused by one parent while the other was an enabler.Being African makes it so difficult to reveal abuse the idea being that parents have a right to do what they like with their children.I have spent the last 10 years in recovery.I hold a good job but I have just realised that I have been living my parent's dream and not my own.

Your story has made me even more determined and committed to find my own path and live it.I have tried to do so in the past but I was so scared but its now or never and I will be 50 next year .Thank you for sharing your story and thank you Lilou for your interviews which I discovered only yesterday .
