Due to a variety of reasons Kumar found himself on a very spiritual journey that led him to take a keen interest in healing and self healing. He has healed himself from multiple diseases.
His passion is education and is the founder of Knowledge City which educates deprived children. On a national level he is impacting the field of education by implementing systems that free children from the black board and tutors. He works closely with government and has recently been asked to take over and transform 100 schools in the eastern province.
He is also the founder of the Wisdom Circle set up in pursuit of wisdom and planetary consciousness. The Wisdom Circle is affiliated with Vihasa, one of the very few establishments to offer Phd in Yoga and meditation.
Kumar Rupesinghe (born 1943) is an academic and activist involved in social issues, particularly Human Rights, development issues, processes of globalisation, conflict prevention, conflict resolution and conflict transformation in the light of peacekeeping and peacebuilding for a harmonious coexistence among all peoples in the world.
He gained fame as coleader, with his then wife, Sunethra Bandaranaike (the daughter of then Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Sirimavo Bandaranaike) of the Maoist Janavegaya group, a faction of the then ruling United Front.
